Home Design

My interior is all about experimenting and enjoying myself, and all styles are beautiful to me.  I combine old and modern elements, including patterns, textures, colors, and artwork, and every single detail holds significance. Comfort, light, and nature inspire me, and I constantly search for new ways to create harmony and keep my décor lively.

Masak’ Residence, Chilliwack, BC

This 3250 sq. ft. farmhouse located just south of Chilliwack and was a collaboration with the client’s architect. All the team members had the same vision, so the process was easy and fun. Our client desired a house with high ceilings, wide open spaces, and a central living, dining, and hang out space with a gorgeous fireplace. The finishes were based on stone inspiration, with grays and whites being used, followed by the floors and fabrics and rugs. The guest house allows for sanity while hosting guests all summer, but also acts as an anchor at the back of the property to balance out the other shapes.

7000 sq. ft. Luxury residence in Karazawa, Japan

Cicozzi architecture hired Barbara to design and customize a high end residence. The client chose a Canadian designer to create spaciousness and timeless interior design. This type of design is not common in Japan due to limited space and resources.

The client came regularly to Vancouver to select a complete design such as, fixtures, cabinets, millwork, flooring, custom marble fireplace and appliances. All were built in Vancouver under the supervision of Barbara and then shipped to Japan. Barbara had the chance to travel in Japan to understand their culture, goals.
